The choral curriculum at Seneca Middle School focuses on developing skills in the art of choral and solo singing.  The main focus is on performance and on learning a varied repertoire of music from different cultures and time periods.  Strong attention is given to developing good vocal technique, the ability to sing in 3-part harmony, to read musical notation, and to sight sing using solfege and Kodaly handsigns.  Students also learn music theory and history, relating music to history and culture.  Students will have some written tests, but most of their grade will come from daily participation, singing tests, and out-of-school performances.
