Welcome to TSMHS "Whatever it Takes: BELIEVE" “Whatever It Takes” Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School From Our Principal.... Welcome to a wonderful and exciting new year at Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School. We look forward to working with our new 6th Grade Class and welcome all who are new to the T/S area from other schools. The Family handbook is provided to all students as a guide for what we believe and do at Tamassee-Salem. We encourage you to read it together for information and to familiarize yourselves with the way we work within our Learning Community. A copy of the family handbook may be viewed online by visiting our TSMHS webpage. Expectations are high for everyone and we will not achieve great results without your help. John Maxwell, author of Teamwork Makes the Dream Work and The 17 Indisputable Laws of Teamwork, states the following: “Teams come in all shapes and sizes. If you’re married, you and your spouse are a team. If you are employed by an organization, you and your colleagues are as team. If you volunteer your time, you and your fellow workers are a team. As Dan Devine joked, ‘A team is a team is a team. Shakespeare said that many times.’ While the great playwright may not have said exactly that, the concept is nonetheless true. Every day in some way, you are a part of a team. The question is not, ‘Will you participate in something that involves others?’ the question is,’ Will your involvement with others be successful?’” We have many people and community organizations who work with us as we strive toward being a successful school and parents are a key to our success. Together we can achieve what we BELIEVE IN and set our goals to do so. We encourage our parents to visit the school at any time and be a part of your student's daily life. Parents are welcome to visit classrooms, set up times for parent-teacher conferences while viewing student information through Parent Connect. As a student, you are encouraged to participate and work with your fellow classmates to be the best you can be. Be a participant and not someone who watches as others perform. Get in the game and work with us as we push to a higher standard so that in the end we are all winners. We appreciate all that you do and look forward to a wonderful and successful 2011-2012 school year. Tamassee-Salem Middle and High School:
