Blaha Is Lobos' First-Ever TAFE National Qualifier

Lehman High School student Meghan Blaha has become the school's first-ever national qualifier for the Future Educators Association National Conference, the 26th annual running of that event to take place April 23-25 in Washington, D.C. Accompanied by Lehman Family and Consumer Science teacher Betsy Slemmons, Meghan and fellow Texas Association of Future Educators members Sarah Gonzales and Lexie Celis recently attended the TAFE state competition at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Meghan competed in Lesson-Planning-CTE and Sarah and Lexie competed in Classroom Role Play. Meghan's recording of a lesson she presented to the Lehman Child Development class was judged 5th in the State for her category, qualifying her for the upcoming national conference.

Congratulations are going out to all three of Lehman's TAFE State competitors and the entire district is wishing Meghan well in her next exciting level of competition. Sponsor Slemmons says of her honored threesome, "I am very proud of all of my students and their dedication to the education and training class and our student organization."
