LHS Powerlifters Roll On; Ramirez Medals at State

Lehman High School's mighty Powerlifting team rolled on in its latest season of success, qualifying a whopping 21 team members for the regionals. Coach Jonathan Proud's Lobos then qualified seven of its girls and one of its boys to their respective State meets. Lobo senior Evelyn Ramirez medaled (4th Place) at the 6A State Meet in Waco to cap a sparkling season and the Lobos' Abel Longoria is, at this writing, preparing for the boys 6A State Meet in Abilene.

Joining medalist Ramirez at the Girls State Meet were fellow State-qualifiers and teammates Alexis Ysla and Rubylee Peez (all regional firsts in their weight classes), Julissa Gonzalez, Mia Dolin, Mia Palomarez, and Maddie Cruz (who was 6th I her weight class, but 1st in 6A). The Lobo girls took 3rd out of 30 competing schools at Region, the high-flying regional qualifiers also including Alivia Fajardo, Amber Saenz, and Mia Ybarra.

In addition to the Lobos' State-qualifying Abel Longoria, their Regional-qualifying crowd included Cameron Saucedo, Julian Mata, Joseph Lopez, Nathan Bryson, Ethan Garcia, Brian Pickett, Ty Roaches, Carlos Morales, Josh Ewald, and Tre Moreno.
