To close out our first semester in U.S. history, I have asked each student to evaulate their progress by analyzing their scores on the Fall Benchmark.  We began the process in class, but students will be finishing this work at home.  I have asked that each student have a parent review the data with them and sign it.  Students must bring the analysis back (signed by a parent) by January 22.  I believe this process is one of the most important things my students will accomplish this year because it will help them understand how they think, how they answer questions, what objectives are their strength, and where they need to work harder.

For students who failed to meet the passing standard on the Fall Benchmark, I have sent home a letter regarding tutoring.  It is important that we do everything we can to support our struggling students.  Every Monday from 3:20-4:00 I will host a TAKS tutorial where we will break down important vocabulary and skills.  This tutorial is not limited only to students who did not pass the benchmark.  All students are welcome.
